News is that, Mani Ratnam is to receive the very prestigious Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the Venice Film Festival. Aishwarya Rai along with her actor husband Abhishek and another co-star Vikram of Raavan should go along with Mani Ratnam to the festival. The sponsor of the entire film festival is an international watch brand which is the prime competitor of the watch brands endorsed by Abhi and Ash. This forced the actor couple to back out of the journey to Venice. The couple chose 'money' over Mani as they don't want to get a problem from their endorsers.
